Each Photobook Memoir is thoughtfully crafted to suit different storytelling styles and needs.
All packages include professional photography, interviews, editing, design, proofreading, and
two premium lay-flat hardback books.
The packages below provide an overview of each type of memoir. Every story and photographic collection is different, so the final shape of your book will be tailor-made to reflect your story.

PHOTOBOOK MEMOIR - CLASSIC
The contemporary portrait
A contemporary photographic portrait enriched by memories and stories from the past

The Classic book captures who you are today through natural, documentary photographs made in your home and everyday surroundings. Your photographs are paired with carefully selected memories and anecdotes, creating an intimate portrait of the person you are now and the experiences that shaped you.

A Classic Memoir will typically contain around 15-20 professional photographs. The exact number will depend on the balance of photographs and written material.
Choose this if: you want a dynamic portrait where photographs take centre stage and written memories add depth and context.

PHOTOBOOK MEMOIR - EXTENDED
The life story
A contemporary photographic portrait woven together with archival photographs, memories and stories from your life.

The Extended book goes deeper, bringing together photographs of your life today with archival photographs from the past. Two interviews allow time to uncover the people, places, experiences and stories that have shaped your life, creating a richer and more substantial personal memoir.

An Extended Memoir will typically contain around 40–70 photographs in total, combining contemporary and archival photographs. The number of archival photographs will vary according to your collection and the way your story develops. If you have an especially large archive, or photographs requiring extensive restoration or preparation, I will discuss any additional costs with you before work begins.
Choose this if: you have many stories to tell and want your contemporary portrait to be woven together with photographs and memories from different periods of your life.

The family archive
A richly layered memoir bringing together contemporary photographs, family photographs, memories and the stories behind them.

The Heritage book is designed for a deeper exploration of the stories held within a family archive. Alongside contemporary photographs, it brings together a larger collection of photographs, memories, anecdotes and personal stories. The material is shaped into a visual narrative, preserving not just the photographs, but the voices, personalities and stories behind them.

A Heritage Memoir will typically contain up to 80 photographs in total, combining contemporary and archival photographs. The exact number will depend on your collection, the stories being told and the balance of words and images.
Because family archives vary enormously in size and condition, we tailor the number of photographs to each project. Collections requiring extensive additional scanning, restoration or preparation may be quoted separately.
Choose this if: you have a significant collection of precious family photographs and want to preserve not only the images themselves, but the stories and memories behind them.

*These prices reflect the typical scale of each memoir. Because every collection and story is different, I will confirm the project price after our initial consultation and before work begins. Larger archives, extensive existing written material, additional interviews or substantially longer books may require a custom quote.
Photograph numbers are a guide rather than a fixed amount and will vary according to the story, design and balance of words and images.

Additional printed copies
Every package includes two copies of your book. Additional copies can be ordered, with the price depending
on the size and specifications of your book and current printing and binding costs.
I'll provide an exact quote before ordering.
Extended page count
If your story needs more space beyond the included page count, additional sides can be added at $40 per page side.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I add more archive photos to the Heritage Memoir?
Yes. The number of archival photographs varies according to the type of memoir and your individual collection. If you have a particularly large archive, we'll discuss the best selection for your book during the consultation. Any substantial additional scanning, restoration or preparation will be discussed and agreed with you before work begins.
2. What if I need more than two interviews for the Extended Memoir?
Every project is different. If it becomes clear that your memoir would benefit from additional interviews or involves a particularly large or complex collection, we can discuss the additional work and agree on a quote.
3. What’s the difference between the Extended and Heritage packages?
The Extended Memoir is an in-depth life portrait, combining contemporary photography, archival photos from your collection, and more storytelling.
The Heritage Memoir is like the Extended Memoir (photo shoot, your photos and stories) but on a more comprehensive level. Depending on your situation, it could mean more archival sorting sessions or more interviews.
4. How do I know which option to choose?
During our initial conversation, I'll help you understand which format best suits your needs, preferences, and the story you want to tell. There's no obligation.
5. Do you travel to clients outside Auckland?
Yes. While I'm based in Auckland and work primarily within the greater Auckland area, I'm happy to travel to clients in other regions. For locations outside Auckland, I will need to charge for travel costs. Please contact me with your location and I'll provide a quote for your specific project.
6. Can I order additional copies?
Yes. Additional copies can be ordered at the current printing and binding cost. The price will depend on the size, page count and specifications of your book. I will provide an exact quote before ordering.
7. Two Heritage Memoirs can look very different – one mostly photographs, another mostly text.
Why is the price the same?
Because the price reflects the overall time and skill involved, not just the word or photo count. A Heritage project with an extensive photo collection can take as much scanning, restoration and sequencing work as a project with fewer photos but more text (requiring extensive interviews and editing).
